RevUp Fitness needed a cost-effective way to grow subscriber list for email & other forms of digital marketing campaigns (mobile SMS, messenger bots) in the health and wellness space.
We decided to run a 2-month giveaway in which people could sign-up for the contest by entering in their email address & mobile number. The prize we decided to giveaway was three nights of concert tickets to one of the largest events in the city.
Our contest was a massive success with over 3,500 new subscribers on a shoestring budget.
We spent less than $400 in ads promoting the giveaway. We targeted interest matches of health & wellness intersected with artists performing at concert. The average cost for each qualified lead via the FB ads were $0.14.
From there we incentivized these initial contestants to share with their family and friends to gain more entries for the contest. Around 25% of the contestants did share the giveaway through their own social media accounts and emails to friends/family. As a result the giveaway grew rapidly for very little cost.
In addition, we created several “one-time actions” to incentive our contestants to complete actions for even additional points, such as following our accounts on social media, sharing specific blog posts or purchasing items from our online fitness store.
Total Cost – $1,438.96 ($1100 – Cost of giveaway prize) + ($338.96 – ad spend)
New Leads – 3,541 ($0.41 per lead: name, email address mobile number)
Social Media Shares – 2,909 (82.2% of all contestants)
Entries From Social Referrals – 1,275 (36% of all contestants)
